New Scoring Rules

Since Celebulous is still in its early days (week 2), we're occasionally coming across scoring questions that were not addressed in the original set of rules.

For example, children under the age of 16 who show skin (bikini or bare chest) will not be awarded bonus points. No exceptions. (Should have thought of this one right off the bat.)

A full 2-page spread, where the picture touches all four edges of each page and the celeb's body spans both pages, is worth 6 points.

A 2-page picture that is the approximate size of a full 1-page picture will also earn 4 points (just like a full 1-page picture).

A 2-page picture that is the approximate width of a 1-page spanning picture will earn two points (just like a 1-page spanning picture), even if it doesn't touch 2 opposite edges of a page.

In giant photo spreads of 6+ people, only identified individuals score points, and they score points relative to what they would score for a similar-sized individual shot of themselves. This can be relevant, for example, for a full 2-page spread of all of America's Next Top Model contestants where only some are identified and none of the individuals' pictures span a single page. The named contestants would each get 1 point (not 6), and the unnamed would get 0.

These additions have all been included on the Rules page. Any future additions will always be added there immediately, so you can always check that page for the latest scoring rules. Any proposed changes to existing scoring rules will generally be posted to the blog for debate before any changes are implemented. Scoring changes will not be retroactive -- they will only apply to upcoming weeks.

And just to be clear, none of these scoring adjustments change any of the fundamental concepts of the game: more exposure still means more points. These were just a few changes needed to make sure we were following that credo in all cases.
